Little Gold Book of YES! Attitude: How to Find, Build, and Keep a YES!

I read this book some time ago. However, I was inspired — by one of our bloggers this week — to grab this book off the bookshelf and read it again. Many of us monkeys in the middle going through our tasks often feel beat down on a daily basis. Often we get sucked into the doldrums of the project/program we are working on which affects our attitude thus affecting our work and even those around us. This “beat down” can last anywhere from a day to what seems like forever.
In the “Little Gold Book of YES! Attitude” Jeffrey Gitomer does a great job of explaining that attitude is everything. He describes the difference between a positive attitude and YES! attitude. He describes how attitude affects your work and even has influence over your coworkers. Throughout the book he gives hints on maintaining the YES! attitude even under the most trying circumstances. Great self-assessment exercises are placed throughout the book to give the reader a gauge of where their attitude is.
The “Little Gold Book of YES! Attitude” is a straight forward, easy to understand, often comical, and motivating read. This is a book that should be re-read when you sense your attitude shifting from what it should be. I would also give it to a coworker or friend who may be in need of some inspiration.
